CoL's Driver Training was born from a desire to help improve the driving standards in Aotearoa.

My journey has been very varied since moving to Aotearoa in 2008 with my then young family and eventually settling in the Franklin region in 2012.

After working for a number of years in manufacturing maintenance, Covid-19 led me to re-evaluate my future.

I chose to become a driving instructor in 2021/22 to help others to develop the skills needed to not just pass a driving test but to become safe drivers for life.

Initially I worked for a local driving school which led to me being offered the position of Kairaihana Matua (Lead Instructor) at Ruapotaka Marae in Glen Innes, before answering the call to train as a Driver Testing Officer to assist with reducing the practical test wait times in 2024.

After 6 months of conducting driving tests at VTNZ Pukekohe I am now returning to driver training.
